Josh’s practice includes both transactional work and litigation. On the transactional side, Josh assists clients with their business needs, primarily in the areas of corporate structure, governance, and fundraising. As for litigation, he counsels clients on civil and commercial matters.
Prior to joining Kaplan & Associates, Josh worked for two different judges in the 2nd Judicial District (Denver), most recently as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Michael A. Martinez, Chief Judge of the 2nd Judicial District. While at the court, he was exposed to a wide variety of civil and criminal litigation matters, and developed a keen understanding of the Colorado court system.
Josh earned both his juris doctor degree and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While pursuing his JD, he participated in Colorado Law’s moot court and mock trial programs; was the articles editor for the Colorado Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law Review; worked as a student attorney for the Natural Resources and Environmental Law Clinic; and was the president of the Environmental Law Society. Josh also served on the board of directors for the ACLU of Boulder County.
When he’s not in the office, Josh enjoys woodworking, tinkering with projects, riding his bicycle around town, and eating his way through the Denver restaurant scene.
